About
Andrea Pakhomkin
As a self-taught artist, I embarked on a journey through various mediums, tirelessly experimenting with each stroke and color palette to explore the realms of realism and classical techniques. In 2020 I created a studio space for my art. Although I began cutting and moulding dried oil paint into pieces in 2020 I continued practicing with traditional oil painting techniques. It was a pivotal moment in 2022, marked by life-altering strokes, that redefined my artistic path.
Facing the profound impact of the near-death experience of multiple strokes, I found a renewed perspective and a desire to heal by reconnecting with my inner child through art. This transformative period led me to the enchanting exploration of oil paint and new themes. In a bold departure from my previous artistic pursuits, I began using my collections of dried oil paint and delved into a playful childlike and spiritual theme, dissecting oil paint’s essence and reassembling it in innovative and evocative ways.
The Ladi Tesserae collection aims to captivate the essence of spiritual growth through the breaking down of the physical self. The innovative sculptural techniques with oil paint invite viewers to witness the chaos of creation within each canvas.
